Parent Council

Parent Councils play an important role in bringing home and school together; enabling schools to gather parents’ views and parents to share their ideas and get more involved in school life.

Lamlash Parent Council usually hold their AGM in August each year. They aim to meet every 8 weeks to discuss ways that they can support the school and EYC and answer questions that parents have put forward.

A typical Parent Council meeting will begin with the Headteacher’s report. They will then discuss any ideas or questions that parents have requested be added to the agenda. They aim to fundraise for the school and EYC

Over the last few years they have:

  • Contributed to travel expenses so that every class in the school can attend swimming lessons.
  • Contributed to expenses so that all children can enjoy an end of year day away
  • Bought paint for remodelling of the playground
  • Bought football strips for the school team
  • Paid for the P7 leavers to have an end of Primary treat – a meal at Little Rock and mini golf!
  • Provided pumpkins for our yearly Halloween carving competition.
  • Bought new books for the library to support pupils in reading different genres.

2025/26 Parent Council:

  • Chair – Rachel Bourne
  • Secretary – Jenny MacHale
  • Treasurer – Amy Wegerhoff
